 the outside appearance Tai gohan YOURAKU, established in 1992, is located along the Hayakawa River, Tounosawa hot spring area, Hakone. Tounosawa hot spring is known as its high quality of onsen water and said to be good for the treatment of neuralgia, arthralgia and poor blood circulation. Tounosawa hot spring has been welcoming many tourist and people staying at a spa to cure a disease for a long time. We are surrounded by beautiful nature, so you can enjoy cherry blossoms in Spring, feel comfortable breeze in summmer, see colorful leaves of maple trees in Autumn and quiet scenery or falling snow from windows in winter.

  "Youraku" is a term of a kind of fassion accessory that statues or models of the Buddha wear in Buddhism. Youraku patterns are drawn on fine china and bowl dish for its sophisticated, brilliant and classy design. Our YOURAKU's wish is serving delicous and beautiful cuisine like youraku pattern to our guests.


 The owner-chef KITANO trained his cooking skill at Hyotei (Michelin 3owner-chef KITANO stars) in Kyoto and opened his Japanese style restaurant "Tai gohan YOURAKU" in Tounosawa, Hakone after worked at Ryokan or traditional inn in Hakone Yumoto as a head chef. And now he cooks in the kitchen with his son and extremely glad to welcome guests from all over the world.



 It is a great joy for us "Washoku" or Japanese cuisine added to UNESCO intangible heritage list. We serve you Kyoto style cuisine strictly selected sea food and vegetables are cooked only by the chefs of the top quality. And we also proudly serve you Tai gohan. We Japanese believe for a long time Tai or red sea bream is a King of fish as its color, size, tastes and beautiful shape. Red is a lucky color and alsotai gohan believed to possess the power to ward off evil. And the name of Tai also suggests the term "medetai" meaning auspicious or joyous.
What is Tai gohan? Tai gohan is mixed rice (gohan) with red sea bream (Tai). Red sea bream is grilled with selected salt and then flake the fresh away from the bone. Please enjoy the delicate taste, fragrance, and colors of artistic Kyoto style cuisine with Tai gohan at YOURAKU. We hope you have a great time or medetai (joyous) time at YOURAKU and in Hakone.

  Hakone Yumoto station, its only 12 min. on foot.

  it takes about 4 km from Hakoneguchi IC.
 ■ From Nagoya
  By Tomei high way Gotenba IC, in way of Otome Touge,
   it takes about 1 hour har to Hakone Tounosawa.
